Plymouth Fire Rescue Awarded Federal Funding for Much Needed Equipment
Chief Thomas Morrison is pleased to announce that Plymouth Fire Rescue has been awarded over $29,000.00 for the purchase and installation of a turnout gear washer and drying cabinet. The funds are made available by the United States Department of Homeland Security through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program.
Chief Morrison states “In keeping with our mission to promote awareness and prevent cancer, this grant will enable us to implement a streamlined process for cleaning and drying our gear. This will ensure that our firefighters are better protected from carcinogens and other contaminants. We are thankful for the efforts of Captain Steve Vachon who was the primary author of this grant application. We also appreciated the assistance of Consultant Greg Bavis from First Responder Grants.”
